Next Meeting

June 19, 2008

The next “show and tell” will be in the Playroom at the Playhouse bar on St. Georges Street, Norwich. We’ll  be planning a public event, so if you’re interested in putting some ‘art that’s difficult to describe’ into Norwich’s public domain, come along.

Successful meeting: Manifesto written!

June 9, 2008

Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting last Monday. We felt it was a really great start to the project. We’ve written the manifesto based on our discussions; please check the About page to read it. We’re working on an upcoming group event, so we’ll keep you posted.

Public Discussion

April 27, 2008

We’ll be hosting an informal “show and tell” in The Tea House on Elm Hill, Norwich, on Monday 2nd June (6-8 pm). The topics discussed and artwork shown will focus on durational and site-responsive art. Participants thoughts and ideas will inform Other/Other/Other’s manifesto, ensuring that the collective can inspire and aid artists making ‘art that is difficult to describe’ in Norwich . Please email us with your thoughts.

(for art that’s difficult to describe)

April 12, 2008

other/other/other is a new collective based in Norwich with the aim of providing discussion and support for artists in the region whose practice falls outside the remit of the existing art spaces. We believe that Norwich has a long way to go before sound art is recognised as being different from music, and before performance stops meaning spectacle.

If you are interested in being a part of this, come along to our first meeting where we will discuss what’s needed in the region, and introduce our work to each other. Bring a DVD of your work and be prepared to talk to us all for two minutes! It’s an informal meeting set up to gauge the scale of this kind of art activity in this region. If the rest of the country can do it, what has taken Norwich so long?

First meeting: Saturday 26th April 1pm-3pm, Norwich Arts Centre (upstairs dressing room), St Benedicts Street, Norwich NR2 4PG

Email otherotherother (at) live.com for more details.

other/other/other was founded by Dot Howard, Holly Rumble and Holly Sutton.
